Herbert Clem Mueller, M.D. ~ The story of “Dr.Clem” & his family during his battle with pancreatic cancer
“The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.” James 5:16

Words from Clem’s family: 05/26/08 Our father, Dr. Herbert Clem Mueller, was taken Home to be with the Lord last night on May 25, 2008. It has been eight months since our first learning that he had stage four carcinoma of the pancreas. Throughout his life, he taught us much about prayer and our hearts’ desire is that his legacy of faith will (as a friend of ours said) have a ripple effect for generations to come. By the goodness, providence, and mercy of God, may our father’s influence live on for many years to come. All of his life, Clem lived out his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, encouraging others, as we have always known him to do -- at home, at church, in his medical practice, and in the many people whose lives he touched in day-to-day life.
In a big step of faith and as we continued to follow Clem’s oncologist’s treatments, while also providing our father with the very best in nutrition, we, his family and friends, asked God to heal him (knowing that this would not be at all difficult for God the Creator, who made the heavens and the earth, and knowing that He established prayer as one of the primary means of accomplishing His will). It is still our prayer that God be glorified in all things, including the time we spent waiting and praying, as we watched our father valiantly battle the hideous beast of cancer, adenocarcinoma of the pancreas, in particular. Please join us in prayer as we ask the Lord for strength to continue the legacy that Clem taught us, and please keep all of us in your prayers.
Thank you.

Excerpt from the letter Clem & Pamela sent to friends Christmas, 2007:
Before September 12, 2007, our (Clem’s & Pamela’s) life was our usual, busy, action-filled life of involvement in the lives of our children, friends, church, and of course, Clem’s busy medical practice. On September 12, 2007, Clem had a sudden life-threatening internal intestinal bleed, but miraculously survived. After further testing several weeks later, Clem was diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer. Since then, life has dramatically changed for us as we focus on prayer for Clem’s healing. We continue to lean on the Lord for His sustaining mercies as we are asking Him for a miracle – a complete healing for Clem -- and we are grateful for the outpouring of love from family and friends. Clem had major surgery to relieve symptoms and now he is receiving chemotherapy as well as researched nutritional treatments. We serve a sovereign God and He is our source of courage, strength, and hope. We covet your prayers and are thankful for all the various types of support that we are receiving.
We pray this Christmas season finds you rejoicing in the Lord in all things
and that He richly blesses you and your family during this coming New Year!
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing,
that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit,
Clem and Pamela ~ for all the Muellers

Jesus said …
"I am the resurrection and the life.
Whoever believes in me, though he die,
yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die.
Do you believe this?"

Remembering and honoring Herbert Clem Mueller, M.D.
(September 9, 1950 - May 25, 2008)
Even if this were not the one year anniversary of our father’s death, we would still miss him as we do each day, but especially today. That today, May 25, 2009, falls on Memorial Day, is one of those tiny details that our Loving Heavenly Father planned before the foundations of the earth – when He numbered each of our father’s days. Had Daddy passed away thirty minutes later, we would not be here today missing him especially on Memorial Day – the holiday Daddy looked forward each year to celebrating by having friends in our home for a gathering -- a great big Memorial Day Picnic. Daddy called his friends, "family," and he loved spending Memorial Day with all of us. He loved the Lord, and would always thank Him for the freedoms that we enjoy because of the sacrifices of others. Today, while we remember our nation’s fallen heroes, we will be remembering the heritage our father left us and left so many others. The Lord took Daddy home one year ago today to be in His Presence, and we know that because he trusted in Christ, our father is not dead, but rather, he is very much alive in Christ and with the Lord.
"Jesus said… 'I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?'" (John 11: 25,26)
We look forward to the time when we will see our Daddy (and our mother’s husband, Clem, and Granddaddy, and son-in-law, and brother-in-law, and ‘Dr Clem,’ and uncle, and neighbor, and friend...) soon. In the meantime, we know that while we are here on earth, we all must live each day for Christ and -- with His grace, finish whatever the work it is that God has for us to do.
“And, behold, I come quickly… Even so, come, Lord Jesus.”
(Revelation 22:12, 20)
We are grateful beyond words for all of you who have been with us during this journey and during this past twelve months. We love you and thank God for each of you. We continue to pray and thank God for you -- for your faithfulness and love, and we continue daily to lift up to the Lord those of you who are sick or suffering or who are caring for those who are. We know that God is faithful, that God hears and answers prayer, and that the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous (those who are in Christ) avails much.
All 0ur love,
